Europas Westküste – ab Hamburg/bis Palma

Hamburg, a major port city in northern Germany, is connected to the North Sea by the Elbe River. It’s crossed by hundreds of canals, and also contains large areas of parkland. Near its core, Inner Alster lake is dotted with boats and surrounded by cafes. The city’s central Jungfernstieg boulevard connects the Neustadt (new town) with the Altstadt (old town), home to landmarks like 18th-century St. Michael’s Church

Zeebrugge est un port et une station balnéaire belge. Elle est reliée à la ville de Bruges par le canal Baudouin. L’ancien marché aux poissons du port de plaisance abrite le Seafront, un parc à thème qui met l’accent sur le patrimoine maritime et halieutique local. Un sous-marin russe y est exposé. Dans la ville voisine de Knokke-Heist, le musée « Pour la liberté » évoque l’histoire de la Seconde Guerre mondiale de la région à travers des dioramas. The Port of Leixões is one of Portugal’s major seaports, located 4 km north of the mouth of the Douro River, in Matosinhos municipality, near the city of Porto. Leixões Sport Club, commonly known simply as Leixões, is Matosinhos’ sports club.

Málaga is a port city on southern Spain’s Costa del Sol, known for its high-rise hotels and resorts jutting up from yellow-sand beaches. Looming over that modern skyline are the city’s 2 massive hilltop citadels, the Alcazaba and ruined Gibralfaro, remnants of Moorish rule.

Palma is a resort city and capital of the Spanish island of Mallorca (Majorca), in the western Mediterranean. The massive Santa María cathedral, a Gothic landmark begun in the 13th century, overlooks the Bay of Palma. The adjacent Almudaina is a Moorish-style Arab fortress converted to a royal residence. West of the city, hilltop Bellver Castle is a medieval fortress with a distinctive circular shape.
