Cozumel est la plus grande île du Mexique, nichée à seulement 12 miles (19 kms) au large des côtes de la péninsule du Yucatan. L’île de Grand Turk est la capitale de l’archipel des Turques et Caïques, dans l’océan Atlantique. Elle est parsemée de vestiges d’étangs salés et de moulins à vent provenant de l’industrie du sel de mer de l’île, qui a prévalu du 17ème au 20ème siècle.
