From The city of gods to the canals of Venice

Proud and eternal, Venice has reigned on its lagoon ever since the 6th century. You may think you know this city before even setting foot here. You will inevitably fall in love with the charm of the innumerable treasures of the Serenissima: Saint Mark’s square, the basilica, Doges palace, the Grand Canal and the gondolas. Yet, secret Venice is also waiting for you to explore its little interlacing streets and canals, to ramble through its squares and to push open the doors of its churches. The city’s extraordinary heritage shouldn’t stop you from enjoying a glass of Spritz and a few tramezzini.

Rovinj is a Croatian fishing port on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. The old town stands on a headland, with houses tightly crowded down to the seafront. A tangle of cobbled streets leads to the hilltop church of St. Euphemia, whose towering steeple dominates the skyline. South of the old town is Lone Bay, one of the area’s pebble beaches.

Die Stadt wurde auf einem Felsen erbaut und beinahe alle ihrer historischen Bauwerke aus der Gotik, der Renaissance und dem Barock sind auch heute noch erhalten. Auf Schritt und Tritt begegnen Sie den Zeugnissen der bewegten Stadtgeschichte.

Kotor mit seinen formidablen Befestigungsanlagen liegt am Ende vieler kompliziert verzweigter, von Massiven aus Kalkgestein umgebenen Buchten in einer der schönsten Gegenden Montenegros. Hinter den beeindruckenden Stadtmauern von Kotor in der gut erhaltenen, zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe erhobenen Altstadt verbergen sich Paläste und viele enge Gassen.

Corfu, an island off Greece’s northwest coast in the Ionian Sea, is defined by rugged mountains and a resort-studded shoreline. Its cultural heritage reflects years spent under Venetian, French and British rule before it was united with Greece in 1864. Corfu Town, flanked by 2 imposing Venetian fortresses, features winding medieval lanes, a French-style arcade and the grand Palace of St. Michael and St. George.

Am Hange des Berges, an dem die Stadt errichtet worden war, grüßen Sie schon von Weitem die weißen Überreste des Apollon-Tempels, die über die Pinienwälder hinausragen.

The Greek capital city is located on the edge of the Saronic gulf, in the east of the country. It bears a plural name in reference to the first villages that surround the Acropolis. You will be enchanted by the rocky plateau presided by its monuments listed as UNESCO World Heritage. In the city below, you can visit some of the liveliest districts in Athens: Plaka, with its maze of colourful streets, and where, in the evenings the drifting aroma of moussaka and garlic prawns will tickle your taste buds.
